Where CN and CPKC Meet
Kamloops is one of the most strategically important points on Canada’s railway. This is where the CN and CPKC main lines converge, funnelling some of the country’s heaviest freight tonnage through the Thompson and Fraser canyons and over the Rockies. That combination — heavy tonnage and punishing mountain terrain — puts constant demand on the track and on the crews maintaining it. Serving Kamloops Since 2018
Backtrack opened in Kamloops in January 2018 — and grew out of that first location within six years. In January 2024 we moved into a larger space, closer to our major customers and better equipped to keep our largest inventory moving. Our Kamloops manager, Tom Upson, has been with Backtrack since soon after we opened — so the shop is run by someone who knows the customers, the territory, and the equipment inside out.
