10lb Warwood Spike Maul

Designed with an elongated head to allow striking of railroad spikes on the opposite side of the rail, the Bell Pattern Spike Maul can drive a spike in three blows in the hands of a strong, skilled spiker. The longer, smaller diameter side of the head is used for driving spikes over taller rails and in the narrow space between rails and highway crossing planks.

The Grade B alloy version of our traditional Bell Pattern Spike Maul weighs 10 lbs. Meets the requirements of the current AREMA Plan #3 and is available with a variety of American hickory and fiberglass handles. ASTM A514 Grade B steel offers exceptional tensile, shear, and fatigue strength for a lifetime of service — and maybe more.

Like all Warwood products, the Bell Pattern Spike Maul is drop-forged by hardworking American craftsmen from premium American steel at the same West Virginia shop where we’ve made our tools since 1905.
